King Zuba urges GFA to reschedule GPL matches to boost attendance

The Mayor of Kumasi, Hon. Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi (King Zuba), has urged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to reconsider the scheduling of Ghana Premier League (GPL) matches, particularly those involving Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak, to help improve stadium attendance.
During his visit to OTEC FM, King Zuba stressed the need for the Ghana Football Association to adjust match times in order to attract more supporters to the stadia.
“We’ve created an unnecessary competition between the GPL and EPL with our game times,” King Zuba stressed.
“Truth be told, you can’t compare the Ghana Premier League to the quality of the English Premier League, which is sometimes virtually free.
“At least schedule Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak matches in the evening when there are no top football matches in any of the five major European leagues to help bring fans back to the stadia,” King Zuba told the GFA.
