Mahama more dangerous than Covid-19 – Ashanti cocoa farmers blast govt over price cut

Cocoa farmers in the Ashanti Region have displayed placards with strong messages during their meetings with the Minority in Parliament, protesting the recent cocoa price cut by the government.

The farmers are using the placards to send a strong message to the government, describing the move as insensitive.

Some of the placards carried by the farmers read, “Yegye yen sika” (we are collecting our money), “Mahama is more dangerous than Covid-19”, and “Aban no Adaadaa Yen” (the government has deceived us).

The farmers are visibly aggrieved and have vowed to vote out the NDC administration over the price cut.

Addressing the Minority at Sekyerene Eas District on Friday , the farmers noted they have already regretted voting NDC to power and hinted that 2028 will be another chance to make the right choice.

The Minority in Parliament has been engaging cocoa farmers in the Ashanti Region for five days now, discussing the price cut.

The farmers’ strong stance is seen as a significant challenge to the government, with the Minority likely to use their grievances to fuel their opposition to the government’s policies
