Two Police Officers die in Motor accident at Ofoase Ayirebi

Two police officers stationed at the Ghana Police Service Ofoase Divisional Command in the Akyemansa District of the Eastern Region have died in a tragic motor accident at Ofoase Ayirebi.

The deceased officers, Lance Corporal Isaac Anti and Constable Allonyor Thomas, reportedly lost their lives after the motorcycle they were riding crashed into a stationary tricycle, locally known as “aboboyaa.”

According to sources, the officers were off duty at the time of the incident and were riding from Ofoase to Ayirebi to buy food when the accident occurred.

Lance Corporal Anti died instantly at the scene due to the severity of the impact. His colleague, Constable Thomas, who sustained serious injuries and was bleeding heavily, was rushed to the Brenase Health Centre for medical attention but was later pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Citi News Sources further indicated that the owner of the tricycle fled the scene after realising that the victims were police officers, reportedly out of fear of being attacked by members of the community.

The police have since launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.

Meanwhile, the bodies of the deceased officers have been deposited at the morgue for autopsy and preservation.
