Several Communities in Ashanti Region Cry Out for Electricity, Appeal Government Support

Residents of Mpasatia- Abompe, Bedaboa, Kyekyentaa, Kwamedwaa, and Mansaso in the Atwima Mponua District of  the  Ashanti Region are pleading for an end to their prolonged darkness.

Despite years of appeals, these communities remain without electricity, affecting daily lives and hindering development.

During a visit to the community by OTEC News reporter revealed electricity cables and transformers that are yet to be connected to the national grid left to rot

The communities are urging authorities, including Energy Minister Hon. John Jinapor, the Regional Minister, and the DCE, to prioritize completing the stalled electricity project and repairing damaged infrastructure, including a non-functional transformer and decaying wiring poles.

Hon Omono Asamoah, Assembly Member for Bedeabour electoral area, said the aforementioned areas have never seen light since electricity came to Ghana, citing that it has made living very uncomfortable for individuals living there

Additionally, they called for support to complete abandoned CHPS Compound and education projects.

They also stressed that children need proper schools and safe study environments to thrive.

The residents appeal for government intervention to address these longstanding issues and bring development to their area.
