The Ministry of Health has organized its Annual Health Training Institutions Conference in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region. Held on Wednesday, the conference is designed to bridge pathways and harmonize entry standards for quality advanced health training across the country.

The event brought together principals, administrators, and stakeholders from health training institutions to discuss strategies for improving admission processes, curriculum delivery, and the overall quality of health professionals in Ghana.
In her opening address, Deputy Minister of Health, Dr. Grace Ayensu Danquah, said the conference serves as a key platform to deliberate on matters that will guide the progress of health training institutions.

“In the next few days we will collectively deliberate on the interview process, selection guidelines, implementation strategies and other related issues to ensure a credible and harmonized admission process across all health training institutions,” she stated.
She also underscored the importance of such engagements and commended all stakeholders for participating.
For his part, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, called for fairness and transparency in the administration of health training institutions.
“Decisions you make here will impact the future of health care delivery in Ghana, so I call on you to ensure qualified and deserving students are given the opportunity,”he said.
The Minister was represented by the Municipal Chief Executive for Ejisu, Gyerine Asante, who delivered a speech on his behalf.
Participants are expected to agree on common standards that will streamline admissions and improve training outcomes nationwide.
The Ministry of Health says the harmonized approach will help address challenges of inconsistency and ensure all health trainees meet the same benchmarks.
Officials added that the outcomes of the conference will feed into policy decisions aimed at strengthening Ghana’s health workforce and improving service delivery in hospitals and clinics across the country.
