The Great Acquah Releases ‘Borderless Africa’ Album to Promote African Unity

Andrews Acquah (The Great Acquah), Reggae Musician
Ghanaian reggae musician Andrews Acquah, popularly known in the music industry as The Great Acquah, has released an eight-track album titled Borderless Africa, aimed at promoting African unity and strengthening continental consciousness.
The album’s release is particularly significant in light of recurring xenophobic attacks in South Africa. Through his music, The Great Acquah calls on Africans across the continent and in the diaspora to embrace one another as brothers and sisters and to reject divisions created by political borders.
Inspired by renowned Pan-African leaders such as Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and Marcus Garvey, as well as reggae legends including Joseph Hill and Burning Spear, The Great Acquah uses his music to project a positive image of Africa while encouraging Africans to reconnect with their identity as the cradle of civilization.
Although relatively new to the music industry, the reggae artist is confident that his music can inspire Africans to believe in themselves and resist the various forms of neocolonialism that continue to affect the continent.
According to him, Africa is richly endowed with both human and natural resources, and through unity, self-belief, and collective action, the continent can achieve greater prosperity and development.
The musician also appealed to experienced industry players to mentor emerging artists and help them navigate the challenges of the music business while attracting the support and investment needed for growth.
“I am open to collaboration with other players in the industry and to sharing ideas that will help grow the industry,” he said.
“I know people have walked this path before me and have gained valuable experience that cannot be learned from literature. I am ready to partner with them, learn from their experiences, and continue to grow. I am teachable and willing to learn.”
Other tracks on the album include Stop Galamsey, Babylon, Hallelujah, and You Dey My Mind.
