The vice President of the republic, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has stated that the NPP under Nana Akufo-Addo has transformed the Ghanaian economy by replacing incompetence with competence as part of the management of the economy is concerned.
”I must say, ladies and gentlemen, without any fear of contradiction that, Nana Akufo-Addo has indeed replaced incompetence with competence in the management of the economy”, he emphasized.
Dr. Bawumiah was speaking at the 25th Annual Delegates Conference of the NPP in Cape Coast in the Central Region under the theme: “NPP, Delivering on our Promises; our Roots, our Strength, our Future.”
According to him, ”during cabinet and other meetings, it is just humbling to see the galaxy of competent men and women that the president has assembled.”
”Furthermore when I look at the economic management team, it is quite clearly a fantastic team; Prof. Gyan Baffour, Dr. Akoto Osei, Dr. Afriyie Akoto, Hon Alan Kyeremanteng, Boakye Agyarko, Ken Ofori Atta and Senior Minister Yaw Osafo Marfo…..what a solid team”, he touted.
Dr. Bawumiah in a mocking way asked if anyone at the auditorium remembers the NDC economic management team adding that, ”i am sure they themselves cannot remember their economic management team well.”
He said that the NPP government is fixing the many problems they were elected to fix and can proudly say that they are putting in place policies that will drive the economic transformation of this country.
”It is very clear that the economy is beginning to respond to the policies of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo”, he noted.
Dr Bawumiah mentioned the many achievements and interventions put in place by the government within the 8 months of office and called it a manifestation of competent economic management.
The vice president noted all these successes as the beginning of great things to come under the leadership of President Akufo-Addo especially in the area Job creation because government is putting together the framework to empower the private sector in creating more work.
