Ghana needs an alternative source of electricity
The Head of the Chemical Engineering Department of Kumasi Technical University, Ing. Professor Osei-Wusu Achaw has advised that Ghana needs an alternative source of electricity to be able to meet the growing demand.
He said government should tap into the enormous prospects of nuclear energy and not rely on only hydro, oil and gas since these forms of energy can deplete.
Inq. Professor Osei-Wusu Achaw who also doubles as the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Ghana Institution of Engineers supported the fact that much education would have to be done to demystify the myths about nuclear energy and invest in research into its various benefits.
He was speaking at a two-day workshop on Nuclear Safety and Security for Media Practitioners in Africa in Kumasi.
