Hopexchange Medical Center cuts sod for construction of Maternal Health Unit at Santasi-Apire

The Hopexchange Medical Center at Santasi-Apire in United Kwadaso Municipality of the Ashanti Region with the help of the United State through The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has cut SOD for the construction of a state of the art maternal and health unit.

The three story building maternal facility which is fully funded by the US government is estimated to cost over one million dollars

The state-of-the-art maternity block, would boast of amenities such

as  a labor and delivery suite, neonatal and pediatric intensive care units, in-patient and out-patient wards, an adolescent clinic, Laboratory center, pharmacy, offices for nurses and doctors among others.

The General Manager of the Hospital, Mr Dominic Osei Kofi during the ground breaking ceremony on Thursday November 16, 2023 disclosed that, the project will be completed in 18 months.

He emphasized that, the when facility completed will help improve access to quality health care for mothers and children in the Kwadaso Municipality and Ashanti Region at large

He expressed his gratitude to the government of the United States of America for finding the project.

The occasion was graced with the presence of US ambassador to Ghana, Her Excellency Virginia Parmer.

Addressing the gathering at the ground breaking event, H. E Virginia Parmer said the project was part of efforts by the U.S government to improving health care systems in Ghana.

She added that, delivering of quality medical care in Ghana was dear to the heart of the US government hence the construction of the facility

She revealed that, the facility will be fully equipped with machines and the necessary equipments upon completion

She pledged the US government’s unwavering support to Ghana in the health, agriculture, education and other important sectors of economy

“The United States is Ghana’s largest bilateral development partner, and in 2022 alone our assistant to the country was in an excess of 150 million dollars”
