Mr Frederick Robert Coleman, Key Account Manager for the non-pharma unit of East Cantonments Pharmacy Limited (ECPL) has donated 20 units of infusion and suction pumps to the Management of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).
The gesture by the company, Mr Coleman noted was in fulfilment of its corporate social responsibility to the people of Ghana especially patients at the hospitals.
Mr Coleman disclosed that upon a meeting with the KATH Chief Executive Officer sometime in September this year, the company decided to provide the items it had donated to minimise the challenges the hospital was facing in advancing care to especially patients at the emergency units.
“These items cost us GHC410, 000.00 cedis but the important thing is that it is intended to help minimise the challenge faced at the emergency unit of this hospital so that patients can receive urgent care required at KATH”, Mr Coleman stated.
Appreciation:
The Chief Executive Officer of KATH, Professor Otchere Addai-Mensah receiving the items noted the delight of the management for the gesture.
He said the East Cantonments Pharmacy Ltd had shown that they were particularly concerned about the people seeking care at KATH.
The CEO added that the gesture by ECPL as well as many others shown to KATH by private induviduals and corporate organisations since his assumption of office gives him the encouragement that many are happy with the work being done by the staff and management of the hospital.
“Such donations to KATH give management the encouragement that many believe in their commitment and dedication to giving the best of care to patients and visitors and we commend East Cantonments Pharmacy for showing concern to needs of patients”, the CEO stated.
Commendation:
Dr (Med) Eno Akua Afriyie Biney, Consultant Emergency Physician at KATH and Lead Clinician at the Emergency Unit commended the CEO of KATH for consistently pushing for support to the unit.
She noted that the unit has often complained about the lack of infusion and suction pumps as well as other necessary consumables, adding that it was therefore gratifying to receive the support from East Cantonments Pharmacy.
She also appealed to other public spirited individuals and organisations to show support to KATH so that collectively they could contribute in giving the best of care to patients at the premier health facility in Ashanti.
“We are thankful to our efficient CEO who works on our challenges and today to have ECPL donate these essential items to us mean we can continue to give off better care to our patients at the emergency unit”, Dr Biney stressed.
