COCOBOD celebrates annual Chocolate Week in Kumasi; urges public to support local Chocolate Industry

The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has successfully celebrated its annual Chocolate Week in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, under the theme “Eat Chocolate, Stay Healthy, Grow Ghana”.

The event, held at Adum, Kumasi, featured a range of exciting activities, including health screenings, quizzes, dancing competitions, and more.

In an exclusive interview with OTEC FM’s Maame Akosuah Gyamfuaa on Friday, February 14, Ashanti Regional Cocoa Board Administrator, Mr. William Kwaku Prempeh, highlighted the numerous health benefits of cocoa.

He cited improved memory, reduced high blood pressure, and many other advantages, advising everyone to consume more cocoa products to promote good health.

Mr. Prempeh also emphasized the importance of the health screening provided during the celebration, which aimed to help staff and visitors check their health status.

He stressed that prioritizing our health through regular hospital visits is crucial.
Deputy Quality Control Manager at the Cocoa Board, Phillip Kwaku Gyasi, noted that Valentine’s Day is a time for spreading love and positivity, rather than focusing on negative things.
He advised those who are not married to use this special day to show themselves some love and take good care of themselves.
