OSP drops corruption charges against Thomas Owusu Andy

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has withdrawn all six charges of corruption and bribery against Thomas Owusu Andy.
The charges were part of a larger case involving 15 counts related to corruption and bribery, stemming from a 2019 investigative exposé by Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
Plea bargain agreement
The withdrawal of charges followed a plea bargain agreement between Owusu Andy and the OSP.
As part of the agreement, Owusu Andy was ordered to pay GH¢200,000 as restitution and reparation to the Republic.
Case details
Owusu Andy was initially facing nine charges, including six directly tied to bribery and corruption. The case was heard at the High Court (Criminal Division) in Accra.
The case against Owusu Andy’s co-accused, Charles Bissue, remains pending.
