Atonsu -Agogo lorry terminal to be relocated soon – Assemblyman

The Assemblyman for the Atonsu -Agogo electoral area in the Asokwa Constituency of the Ashanti region, Hon Eric Osei has revealed to Otec news that the Atonsu Agogo lorry terminal will soon be relocated to ease vehicular traffic at the area.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with OTEC fm’s Evans Agyei Sikapa, Hon Eric Osei stated that several complains have been placed before him and the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) over the usual traffic from Afanko junction to the High school junction every morning which is caused by the congestion at the main Atonsu-Agogo lorry terminal.
The Asokwa Constituency NPP organiser hopeful noted that plans are far advanced for the relocation latest by early next year. “I am aware of the heavy traffic which is by the congested terminal but i can assure my people that we are working around the clock to resolve the problem”, he stated.
He however called on the Asokwa District police who are in charge of traffic direction within the area to be up and doing with their work for easy movement at the area.
He explained that drivers at the Atonsu-Agogo and High school lorry terminals operate lawlessly and therefore police must enforce the law for commuters to feel comfortable.
Hon Eric Osei however disclosed that misunderstanding at the new AtonsuAgogo market have been resolved after confusion between traders and the contractor working at the site.
Traders of the Atonsu-Agogo new market raised red flags at the contractor working on the new market over the limited number of stores at the market but Hon Osei says the issue has been resolved as the KMA together with the Atonsu-Agogo local Assembly have begun building new stores at the place to ensure that all traders have access to stores.
