Manhyia Bans Funerals on August 21 for Asantehemaa’s One Week Observation

The Manhyia Palace has announced a ban on all funeral activities across Asanteman on Thursday, August 21, 2025.
A press release signed by Deputy Chief of Satt at the Manhyia Palace, Nana Effah-Appenten on Tuesday August 12, 2025 said the decision is to allow the Asantehene and the entire Asanteman to observe the One Week Celebration of the late Asantehemaa Nana Konadu Yiadom III, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 7, 2025.
The One Week Celebration will be held at Bogyawe, Manhyia Palace from 12 noon to 6:00 p.m. on the same day.
His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, officially informed the Asanteman Council of the demise of the Asantehemaa on Monday, August 11, 2025.

The palace has made this information available to the general public, urging all to join in paying their last respects to the departed queen mother.
The bereaved royal family and the entire Asanteman are expected to converge at the Manhyia Palace on August 21, 2025, to pay their last respects to the late Asantehemaa.
