IGP, other State Security Heads Storm Manhyia Palace for Asantehemaa’s Burial Service

The Inspector General of Police, COP Tetteh Yohonu, led a contingent of police officers to the Manhyia Palace yesterday to pay their last respects to the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.


The IGP’s presence underscored the high esteem in which the late queen mother was held across various sectors of society.

The police delegation was not alone, as other heads of state security agencies also converged on the palace.
Representatives from the Ghana Prisons Service, Immigration Service, Ghana National Fire Service, and the Military, among others, were in attendance to pay their respects to the departed queen mother.
The second day of the burial service has been designated to honor the presence of security heads and the general public.
Asanteman, the collective community of the Ashanti kingdom, is in deep mourning as they bid farewell to their beloved queen mother.
The event is expected to draw large crowds as people from all walks of life come to pay their final respects.
The late Asantehemaa’s impact on the Ashanti kingdom and beyond will be deeply missed.
Her legacy and contributions to the cultural and traditional fabric of the society she served will be remembered for generations to come.
As the final rites are performed, the security agencies’ presence ensures the safety and orderliness of the proceedings.
