(Photos) 10 feared dead, scores injured in gory accident at Nsawam
VIP BUS IN ACCIDENT
At least ten people have been confirmed dead in an accident on the Accra-Suhum road late Thursday afternoon.
A local journalist Jesse Amankwa who spoke to a NADMO official told Newsmen the deceased persons include eight females, two males one of whom is barely two-years-old.
The bodies of the deceased persons have been sent to the Nsawam Mortuary.
The accident occurred on Thursday, 25 January, 2018.
The VIP vehicle was on its way to Kumasi from Accra when the accident occurred around 5:30 pm. Pictures gleaned from the accident spot showed the VIP vehicle had veered off the street and landed in a nearby bush with dents to the body of the vehicle and shattered windows.
The driver’s end of the windscreen was completely shattered as well. It is not clear if the driver is part of the deceased persons.
A tipper truck is also at the opposite end of the road with no serious damages.
Officials of the National Disaster Management Organisation, (NADMO) from Ayensuano district, Police and the Fire Service were on the scene to lend a hand to survivors and to help ease traffic.
