COVID-19: Asantehene, wife vaccinated
The overlord of Ashanti Kindom Otumfour Osei Tutu II together with his wife Lady Juliah on Tuesday March 2, 2021 became the first person’s to have received doses of Corona virus Vaccines in the Ashanti Region.
They were vaccinated at the Manhyia Palace in the Ashanti Regional capital Kumasi with the AstraZeneca Covid-19 Vaccines.
The Paramount Chief of Mampong Traditional Area who happens to be the Second in command to Asantehene Daasebre Osei Bonsu II was the third to be vaccinated in the Region.
Speaking to OTEC News Kwame Agyenim Boateng after the vaccination the Ashanti Regional Health Director Dr Emmanuel Tenkorang said about 150,000 doses of vaccines are expected to be administrated in the Region withing the next two weeks
He added that Asantene together with President Akuffo Addo have shown good example by taking the vaccines and so therefore urged the public to patronize the process.
He called on the public to support health officials in the administration of the vaccines.
