Second Day: 2022 SNV Ghana GrEEn Ashanti Regional Trade Show

The 2022 edition of SNV Ghana’s GrEEn Regional Trade Show in the Ashanti Region has entered day two with a call on the public to patronize locally produced products.

It is a 6-day event organized by the SNV Ghana under the GrEEn Project to bring together entrepreneurs and Small businesses who are producing goods and services locally to showcase and promote their wares.

The Chief Executive Officer for Rima-20 Enterprise who are into the production of natural grape juice, Dr Stephen Anna in an interview with OTEC News Kwame underscored the need for the public to support indigenous businesses by buying made-in Ghana products.

“So much of what African consumers use is imported and in extreme case cases, like Kumasi, almost everything – including food – is imported. It is a situation which often leads to ballooning deficits and other budgetary problems”

One desirable solution is to boost local manufacturing and encourage locals to buy locally-made goods – something that I believe is the antidote to the ailing economy”. He said.

Another entrepreneur who also displayed his products at the Kumasi City Mall Mr Foster Delali, CEO of Smiling Sky Enterprise urged the public to take pride in their local goods and services

This according to him will create more jobs in Ghana.

Genevieve Parker Twum, a Senior Incubation and Acceleration Advisor on SNV’s GrEEn Project explained that the trade show was to promote local entrepreneurs who are in the green business.

She pledged SNV’s continued support to start-ups that are genuinely protecting the environment while creating employment at the same time.
