Ejisu: Assembly Members distance themselves from ‘’no confidence’’ votes against MCE

Some Assembly Members of the Ejisu Municipal Assembly in the Ashanti region have distanced themselves from a press release issued and signed by the Assembly Member for Bonwire Electoral Area, Hon. Krobea Asante, on behalf of the Assembly calling for the motion to pass ‘No of Confidence’ on the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Beatrice Serwaa Darkyi.
In release signed by fifteen (15) out of twenty-eight (28) Assembly Members, it said they had no knowledge about the released signed by Hon. Krobea Asante, it was full of lies, cooked and an attempt to tarnish the hard won reputation of the MCE, and has urged the public to treat it with contempt it deserves.
According them, the MCE since assuming office has able to solve two challenges facing the municipality over a long period and believed her developmental-oriented vision will help the Assembly to achieve their goals.
“MCE of Ejisu came barely a year ago to meet a huge debt at the assembly from unpaid contracts and others but we the undersigned assembly members are very excited for her courageous decision to solve these two long overdue burdens in our municipality; Firstly evacuation of silt from almost all the refuse damp in the municipality. Secondly peacefully relocated our market women from Ejisu-Accra high way to a save place,” they boasted.
They therefore called on Hon. Krobea Asante “to render unqualified apology for his defamatory comments to us, the Assembly, and the good people in the municipality through Municipal Coordinating Director of Ejisu Municipal Assembly or else we would petition Ejisu Municipal Assembly Disciplinary Committee for the necessary action to be taken by your unproductive conduct.”
