OTEC FM holds a day seminar for marriage and prospective marriage couples

Marriages can be profoundly fulfilling and joyful; marriages can be terribly demanding and stressful. Why do some marriages last a lifetime? It’s not magic; it’s not luck; it’s not due to the alignment of the stars or your horoscope. Healthy marriages that last a lifetime are built on healthy, foundational principles and habits.

It’s the above reasons why the Managements of a Kumasi based radio station OTEC FM organized a day’s seminar for all Marriage and prospective Marriage Couples.

The marriage seminar dubbed ” Aware Adwosuo” held on Friday May 25, 2018 at Jofel catering services in Kumasi Metropolis in the Ashanti region with an illustrious Marriage Counselor & Motivational Speaker Opanin Kwadwo Kyere as the main speaker, attracted hundreds of participants across the region.

Addressing the participants, Opanin Kwadwo Kyere advised ready-to-marry youths and singles in general to be very much cautious when planning and choosing their life partners.

He said the large number of recorded divorce cases shortly after most marriage ceremonies is due to improper consideration in the selection of a partner.

According to him, it is better people concentrate much on the negative aspects of their partners during friendship than focusing on their good side alone.

“People preparing to marry should be much interested in the bad sides of their opposite sex as well, instead of focusing and developing interest in only the good side of them”, he stated.  This, according to Opanin Kwadwo Kyere, would help individuals to test their patience against bad attitudes and if they could confront it.

Opanin Kwadwo Kyere observed that, the act of pretending towards partners during dating was a major contributing factor that had caused many fresh marriages, getting stuck in the mud. “I don’t understand why people hide their characters because of marriage, and I tell you this will later reveal itself and cause a big mess in the marital journey”.

“People should not be driven by lust into marriages, but rather, employ lots of passionate love for each other that would help strengthen the marriage. He noted most marriages are not holding as expected because, partners always try to hide their feelings from each other.

“These behaviours when revealed along the line, create problems for couples,” the respected man of God stated. He advised couples to submit to counseling prior to marriage and after marriage.

“Prayer is a powerful tool Christians need in marriages since it helps to boost confidence and trust as well as bringing God into all situations,” he said.
