7 Baba Yara stadium rioters granted bail

The seven Hearts of Oak Sporting Club’s fans who were arrested for allegedly demolishing chairs at the Baba Yara Stadium and throwing them on the pitch last Sunday have been granted bail by the Nkawie Circuit Court on Friday, September 7, 2018.
The court presided over by His Lordship Justice Michael Abbey granted them bail with the sum of GHC 50,000 each and to reappear before the court on September 25, this year.
They are also to report to the Kumasi Central police station on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 10 am every week before the due date.
Some fans of Hearts of Oak demolished plastic chairs and threw them to the pitch in protest against the referee’s decision not to award a penalty to the team.
The fans include Nana Adom, Moro, Nicholas Yeboah, Sadat Bugri, Kwabena Opoku and one other.
The incident happened during a second leg match between Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak which Kotoko won 2-0 to seal a 4-0 aggregate victory.
