Hungry Ashanti NPP Media Communicators call off strike

Volunteer Media Communicators of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti region have to apologized to the party leadership for their gross disrespect they exhibited by burning their mobile phones and SIM cards to signify the end of their work in the party.

The serial callers, numbering about seventy, on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, in Kumasi, declared a strike action in protest against their pleasure over what they described as ‘total neglect’ by the party, after sacrificing their lives to bring the party to power.

Chairman for the group, Abel Anokye, said party leaders have refused to find them jobs after the party assumed affairs of state.

Their actions received condemnation from the party leadership, especially the National Youth Organizer, Henry Nana Boakye, who described them as ungrateful, indiscipline and lazy people who have turned down job opportunities granted them by the party.

In a press conference on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, the members, led by the chairman, Abel Anokye, they have regretted their actions, and promised to resume wonk the following day (Thursday).

“We are appealing to president Nana Addo, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Simon Osei Mensah and NADMO Ashanti Regional Coordinator, Hon Kwabena Nsenkyire, Regional and National Executives to forgive us, we regret our actions and hope not to repeat,” Anokye said.

“The party should seek the welfare of the grass root members who always sacrifice for the party. They should seek the welfare of us, who have been defending the party at all fronts, we also deserve something ‘good’. Now from tomorrow (Thursday) you will hear us on radio and other social media platforms,” he concluded.
