Race course:  Traders deny media publication by mynesgh.com

Office of the Market Queen of the Bantama/Race Course Markets in Kumasi has denied an online media publication by mynesgh.com written by Stephen Zoure that the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has flouted the directives of Asantehemaa in the re-allocations of abandoned sheds at Race Course.

In a press release issued on Thursday, November 15, 2018, signed by the secretary to the Bantama Traders Association, Kyei Baffour and copied to otecfmghana.com, it said the association is in constant touch with city authorities regarding the road map towards the re-allocation processes.

Mynesgh.com  this week  published  that, Bantama traders trading at Kumasi Racecourse market are accusing the authorities of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) of disrespecting the Manhyia Palace by ignoring a ruling by the Royal Asantehemaa ordering the KMA to hand over empty sheds belonging to the Kumasi Petty Traders Association and other Unions to them.

But, the leadership has thus described the publication as “malicious, fallacious and orchestrated attempt by the reporter and mynesgh.com to foment trouble where there is none, and also create unnecessary confusion and tension”.

“At no point in time have we granted interview to the said report on the issue,” the release denied.

The association is therefore demanding an unqualified apology and further retraction of the said publication.
