Asokwa NDC primaries: Business man picks forms

A business man, Anwel Sadat Ahmed, has picked a nomination form to contest in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primaries in the Asokwa constituency in the Ashanti region.
Mr. Sadat who picked the forms at the constituency office in Asokwa on Wednesday, September 18, 2019, said his decision to contest is to amass more votes for the party in the Ashanti region.
He was presented with the forms by the constituency secretary, Rudolph Amankwah, after paying his GHC2, 000 nomination forms fee.
Speaking to Otec News’ Nanasei Sikapa after picking the forms, he said the Asokwa seat can only be wrestled from the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) who has held it since its creation in 2004 if the party choose to contest in parliamentary elections in 2020.
“I have been in the political business for some time in the region, I have the ability and the capability to unite the party, bring not only the party members together, but also opposing parties’ members who are suffering due to the poor management by the Nana Addo led government,” he assured.

“All that I need from the regional and constituency executives, party supporters and all sundry is their support and cooperation to win more votes for John Mahama and myself to win the Asokwa seat,” he appealed.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) will on
October 19, 2019 conduct its parliamentary primaries for the remaining
thirty-nine (39) constituencies that were put on hold.
This follows previous parliamentary elections
held in some constituencies across the country.
Filing of nominations started from Tuesday,
September 24, 2019 and will end on Wednesday, September 25, 2019, for the
elections to place on Saturday, October 19, 2019 concurrently.
