Suame: Man stabbed to death by cousin after disagreement

A 35-year old man has died after he was stabbed by his cousin during a disagreement over a family property at Suame in the Ashanti Region.
Both the suspect and the deceased belong to two sides of a family who have had a long-standing feud over a property at their family house located at Old Suame in the Suame Municipality.
According to police, the suspect, Hamidu Fuseini, stabbed the deceased, Izudeen Lawal, multiple times in the neck at about 10:30 pm on Monday.
The deceased died on arrival at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital after bleeding profusely.
The Suame District Police Commander, Superintendent Emmanuel Asiamah, narrated the incident to Citi News and also confirmed the arrest of the suspect and one other person who is Uncle to the deceased.
The suspect first came to police to lodge an assault complaint after the altercation but later on, “the deceased’s sister also came and reported the incident of the deceased’s death so the police quickly called the suspect… he came back and was arrested.”
“As we speak, the suspect is behind bars at the Suame police station for further investigations,” Supt Asiamah said.
The deceased, Izudeen Lawal, has since been buried according to Islamic customs while investigations in the matter continue.
