A/R: Collapsed wall kills two in Ahenema Kokoben
Two persons were confirmed dead in the early hours of Sunday May 16, 2021 at Ahenema Kokoben in the Atwima Kwannwoma District of Ashanti Region when a fence wall collapsed on them during heavy downpour.
OTEC NEWS’ Kwame Agyenim Boateng who visited the scene said , the victims , a 32 -year-old man and his 43-year-old wife who were killed in the} incident.
The husband and wife now deceased were identified as Mr Dorye Banda, a Mason and Mrs Joyce Laweh, trader.
The Unit Committee Chairman for Ahenema Kokoben Electoral area Elder Osei Kwadwo told OTEC News that the wall collapsed following hours of torrential rains in the area.
“The lifeless bodies of the two were discovered in the morning after we found out that a fence wall close to their room had fell on their single room” forcing parts of their room to cave inn in the process.
He explained that the fence wall fell on the side of the building where the two were sleeping and killed them.
Personnel from the Police service, rushed to the scene immediately word got to them and later conveyed hte bodies to Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
