House of Chiefs condemns murder of three persons at Abesim

The National House of Chiefs has condemned the murder of some three person at Abesim near Sunyani in the Bono Region.
The three were allegedly murdered by one Richard Appiah who also stocked their body parts in a double door fridge.
The president of the National House of Chiefs, Ogyeahohoo Yaw Gyebi II, in his address at a general meeting said the House unreservedly condemns the act.
“The National House of Chiefs condemns in no uncertain terms the gruesome murder of three teenagers at Abesim in the Bono Region and the killing of two persons and injury to four others by soldiers during the protest against the killing of a social media activist, Ibrahim Mohammed, popularly known as Kaaka at Ejura in the Ashanti Region,” he said.
Ogyeahohoo Yaw Gyebi II also used the opportunity to congratulate the newly appointed Inspector General of Police, Dr George Akuffo Dampare, and further asked him to beef up security across the nation, following recent hike in kidnapping cases and daylight robberies.
“The National House of Chiefs is using this platform to congratulate the newly appointed IGP, George Akuffo Dampare for his appointment and also call on him and his men to beef up security for Ghanaians in the midst of the numerous broad daylight robberies in Accra, the national capital, and other parts of the country.”
He further urged the IGP to take “concerted efforts to protect police officers in the fight against crimes”, adding that the government must provide police personnel the necessary logistics for work.
“There are several instances some police officers suffer critical injuries and even lose their lives in the time of performing their official duties. Nananom therefore want to appeal to the government to provide the men and women in uniform the necessary logistics to discharge their duties in sound and secure environment.”
