The Ashanti Central Ghana Conference of SDA has donated assorted food to the leadership of the Muslim community in the Ashanti region to celebrate this year’s Eid al-Fitr.
The items include bags of rice, packs bottled water, cooking oil and boxes of tin tomatoes and sardines, at a cost of GHC 5, 000.
The Eid al-Fitr marks the end of the month-long fasting in the Islamic month of Ramadan.
The donation was done at Kumasi Central Mosque at Akwatialine in the Asokore Mampong municipal on Friday, April 29, 2022.

The Executive Secretary of the Adventist Muslim Relation, Pastor Jonathan Owusu, said the presentation was to reinforce the cordial relationship that exists between Christians and Muslims.
He added that it was also to support them to celebrate the festival after their long fasting and prayers which is beneficial to all Ghanaians, irrespective of religious affiliation.

“As Christians we see Muslims as our brothers and in celebrating your Eid al-Fitr, we bring you these items to support your festival, after the month-long fasting,” Pastor Owusu said.
“During the fasting and prayer, all Ghanaians benefitted and this kind gesture deepens the tolerance and peaceful co-existence among practitioners of all religions in Ghana,” he added.

The Head of Logistics at the Kumasi Central Mosque, Alhaji Rashid Zaidan, receiving the items expressed his profound gratitude to the SDA church for the kind gesture.
