A/R: Swedru Chief donates TLM’s to Swedru D/A School

The Chief of Swedru, a suburb of Bosomtwe District in the Ashanti Region, Nana Osei Kwame has put a smile on the face of teachers and students of Swedru D/A Primary and JHS by donating Teaching and Learning Material (TLM) to the school.

The items: board markers, branded exercise books, reading books, packs of pens, jerseys and footballs were presented to the school to help the school in areas where the school lacks the items for teaching.

The items were presented to the school on behalf of Nana Osei Kwame by his Elders led by Abusuapanin Akwasi Gyimah and wife, Nana Yaa Konadu (Abrokyire Hemaa).

Speaking in an interview with newsmen after the presentation, Nana Osei Kwame recounted the need for the kind gesture he showed to the school and the essence of formal education to every individual and the community.

He noted that ensuring quality education for children in the community is his major priority as a citizen of the land and a leader of the community hence the need to support the school.

The Swedru Dikro said that for one to be successful in life, the quality and level of education the person plays a significant role therefore entreating the students to remain focused and stay glued to their books.

Nana Osei Kwame assured the school that he will do whatever it takes to make the Swedru D/A School one of the best in the District and region as a whole by providing the needed logistics to ensure quality teachings and learning.
“Already we have began renovation of the school blocks, toilet and urinary facilities to make life comfortable for both teachers and students in the school.
The headmistress of the school, Madam Felicity Serwaa Nuako who received the items on behalf of the school expressed their appreciation toward the effort of the chief promising that the school will make proper use of the items describing the chief as an exceptional.
“For several years in my experience as a teacher through to headmistress, I must admit this is the first time I’m seeing a chief doing this and we thank our chief for his kindness” she added.
