Ghana introduces visa on arrival for Christmas visitors
The government has introduced a visa on arrival for visitors to Ghana effective 1 December 2023 to 15 January 2024, an official statement has said.
The visa on arrival programme, which forms part of the December in GH initiative aims to facilitate and encourage increased arrivals to Ghana during the festive season.
A statement issued by the Ghana Tourism Authority on Wednesday (22 November), said the Minister of Transport Kwaku Ofori Asiamah has directed airlines to update their system to reflect the new arrangement.
“The Ghana Tourism Authority is excited to announce that the Government of Ghana has authorised Non-Pre-Approval Visa on Arrival for visitors coming to Ghana from 1 December 2023 to 15 January 2024,” it said.
“This pre-approval waiver has been launched as part of the December in GH campaign, which is crucial element of the 10-year “Beyond the Return” initiative.”
“In a letter addressed to all airlines signed by the Minister of Transport Kwaku Ofori Asiamah, the ministry urged the airlines to update their systems to reflect this new arrangement…” the GTA statement added.
