OFI Ghana donates GHS 300k to Heal Komfo Anokye Project
Olam Food Ingredients Ghana Limited (OFI Ghana), a Licensed Buying Company (LBC) in Ghana’s cocoa sector and exporter of cashew in the industry has donated GHS 300,000 to the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
The donation according to the company formed part of efforts to support the “Heal Komfo Anokye Project” project launched by the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
The company was on Thursday November 16,2023 lead by the Head of Stakeholder Relations at the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation, Mr Kwabena Owusu Ababio to present the money to the Chief Executive Officer of KATH Professor Addai-Mensah.
The Head of Procurement for (OFI) , Madam Silvia Araba Amo Asare, during the presentation commended the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and the5 leadership of the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for the initiative.
She revealed that Olam Food Ingredients Ghana Limited has provided timely support to individuals, agencies, groups and communities where they operate as part of their cooperate social responsibility, adding that, this donation was part of the many interventions they offer to their development partners.
“We have taken an important role in helping to build a cocoa sector that provides long-term, positive support for5 cocoa farmers to, their communities and the environment in which they operate and this is no exception “.
She however pledged the company’s continuous support in developmental projects in the regions they operate

Receiving the demi-check from Olam Ingredients Ghana Limited, the C.E.O of KATH, Professor Addai Mensah thanked the company for supporting the project
He noted that, the donation will go a long way to make the “Heal Komfo Anokye Project ” a reality.
He called on well-meaning Ghanaians and cooperate organizations to emulate what OFI has done and contribute their quota to the project
About Heal Komfo Anokye Project
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, on Friday November 10,2023 launch a project to renovate the Komfo Anokye teaching Hospital (KATH) in the Kumasi Metropolis of the Ashanti
Dubbed “Heal Komfo Anokye Project” the move seeks to raise US$10 million in a public fundraising drive for the renovation of the 70-year-old in-patient wards at the Hospital.
KATH is the major referral health facility in the Ashanti region, serving the health needs of patients in 12 out of the country’s 16 regions.
The facility has not been refurbished for many years, with portions of the building developing defects, including the ceilings, tiling and general ward environment alarming the Asantehene to lead its renovation.
The renovation project is expected to be executed as part of the legacy projects marking the 25th anniversary celebration of the Asantehene’s enstoolment next year.
