The President and Founder of Centre for Intellectual Excellence ( CeFIE) Canada, Dr Hilda Fankah-Arthur has underscored how sustainable Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) initiatives are increasingly recognized as key components of effective Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategies.

According to her, research leading to the business case for IDEA has revealed that organizations leveraging these tools experience increased innovation, productivity, profitability, customer satisfaction and improved ESG ratings that attract more investors and many associated benefits.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 4th Edition of World Diversity in Leadership conference in Calgary, Canada, and organized by Centre for Intellectual Excellence ( CeFIE ),  Dr Hilda Fankah-Arthur mentioned that the last three conferences have left impressive impact on the global population and leadership landscape.

In her speech on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, she was optimistic that the contribution from past speakers and participants have ignited conversations, fostered collaborations and inspired change that reaches far beyond these conference walls.

“We have meticulously selected knowledgeable and experienced keynote speakers, panelist and various presenters to share in-depth understanding of how we can draw strength from our differences for the growth and advancement of society for the benefit of all people” she added.

“The transformation we seek starts from the mind so I encourage you to be open to ideas that will lead to changes in behaviours, actions and words–orally (what we say) and written (contributions in writing) – as everything we do impact others in one way or another,” Dr Fankah-Arthur said.

The organization stated that it has also witnessed a shift in mindsets and policies, as organizations around the world recognize the value of diverse leadership in driving innovation, enhancing decision-making, and promoting sustainable development.

The over 400 participants after the confab are expected to gain insights, diverse perspectives and learn from the personal experiences of global leaders who have leveraged DEI to advance significant initiatives in different roles and positions.
