The rite, known locally as “Bragoro,” is a traditional Ghanaian practice that prepares young girls for womanhood by instilling values of responsibility, respect, and the importance of community.

During the ceremony, Nana Akosua Tanaa II led the girls through various symbolic rituals, including purification rites, the wearing of traditional cloth, and the recitation of ancestral blessings.

She emphasized the importance of maintaining cultural heritage in the face of modern challenges.

She encouraged the girls to carry the lessons of the ceremony with them as they navigate the complexities of adulthood and urged them to be role models in their families and communities.

The chief of Sehwi Boinzan, Nana Ofori Ahenkan II urge those who are not from the town to consider themselves as natives and ensure the development of the Sehwi Boinzan.
