Ejura market mismanagement exposed as New Committee Collects GH¢32,846 on its first day of work
Suspicions of poor revenue mobilization at the Ejura Market have been confirmed, as a new joint committee, set up by the Ejura Divisional Council and the Municipal Assembly , has amassed a whopping GH¢32,846 on its first day of work.
Following allegations of revenue loss at the facility, a new committee, set , has taken over the management of the Ejura Market and raked in a whopping GH¢32,846 on its first day, confirming suspicions of poor revenue mobilization under previous management.
The committee, established by the chief of Ejura Divisional Council, Barimah Osei Hwedie II, and the Ejura-Sekyeredumasi Municipal Assembly, has taken over the management of the market, and the initial results are impressive.
According to Otec News reporter, Kwame Agyenim Boateng, who has been monitoring the situation, the market was previously generating between GH¢600 and GH¢10,000 on peak days of market activities.
The new committee’s revenue breakdown on its first day of work is as follows,, Barrier revenue, GH¢21,42, Market, GH¢11,42, making a Total of GH¢32,846 received on Monday September 9 2024.
Residents and traders of Ejura have however welcomed the takeover of the market by the Ejura Divisional Council, expressing confidence that the market will reap more revenue for the government under the chiefs’ management.
The development confirms the Ejura Traditional Council’s earlier claims of poor revenue at the market, and the council’s decision to take over the market’s management is seen as a step in the right direction.
