“Deity Ordered Me to Kill My Brother” – Suspect Tells Mother after Gruesome Murder
In a shocking revelation, Maame Atta, the mother of the 8-year-old boy allegedly killed by his senior brother in Kwamo, Ejisu Municipality, Ashanti Region, has shared the chilling confession of the suspect.
According to Maame Atta, Samuel Obeng, 20, told her that a deity in their home instructed him to kill his younger brother, Messiah Akomea, promising to resurrect him afterward.
Maame Atta in an interview with OTEC News Reporter Jacob Agyenim Boateng disclosed that she received a phone call from Samuel on the day of the incident, during which he confessed to the crime and cited the deity’s instruction as his motive.
The mother revealed that Samuel had been battling mental health issues for four months after allegedly being chosen by a family deity to become a fetish priest. Despite seeking treatment, the family never anticipated such a tragic outcome.
Maame Atta explained that she had left Messiah in Samuel’s care when she went to market, only to return to find her younger son brutally murdered.
The incident has left the family and community in shock, raising concerns about mental health, spiritual influences, and the breakdown of family dynamics.
Police are currently investigating the matter.

The devastating incident which occurred on Sunday October 12, 2024 shaken the Ejisu Municipality in the Ashanti Region, where Samuel Obeng, 20, brutally murdered his 8-year-old brother, Messiah Akomeah, in a remote bush near Kwamo.
Samuel allegedly slit Messiah’s throat and attempted to dispose of the body in a nearby pond, claiming he was influenced by hallucinations and “voices in his head”.
