Govt to introduce Edutourism to enrich Ghana’s educational appeal – Adutwum
Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, Minister of Education, has announced plans to launch an ‘edutourism’ initiative aimed at attracting international students and educators to Ghana.
This innovative program will blend educational experiences with cultural immersion, allowing visitors to engage in Ghana’s rich history and vibrant culture.
Speaking on behalf of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), in Accra on Sunday, Dr. Adutwum explained that the edutourism initiative will create opportunities for students worldwide to participate in academic programs while experiencing Ghana’s diverse heritage firsthand.
“We want to position Ghana as a premier destination for educational tourism,” he stated. “This initiative will not only enhance our educational offerings but also promote cultural exchange and economic growth.”
Dr Adutwum emphasised that this initiative aligned with the government’s broader goal of transforming the education sector and making it more globally competitive.
He stressed it was for that reason Ghanaians should retain the NPP government to make this a reality.
