The Vice President of the Republic and Flag-bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has applauded Asokwa residents for staying true to their Member of Parliament (MP) and supporting her to attempt a fourth term in Parliament in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

Dr Bawumia said Asokwa couldn’t have asked for anyone better than Madam Appiagyei since her experiences and competences make her a stand out in Parliament.

Addressing religious leaders, Chiefs and the public at Kumasi High School, a famous senior High School in Gyinyase, a suburb in the Asokwa Municipality,  Dr Bawumia asked the people to vote massively for Mama Pat in the upcoming parliamentary elections in December.

“You couldn’t have asked for anything better than Mama Pat, the Rosalinda of our time who has the experience,  competences and lobbying skills to represent you very well and it is not surprising to seeing her now as Deputy Majority leader in Parliament”, Dr Bawumia stated.

Resolve:

Dr Bawumia asked the Chiefs, religious leaders and the public to keep faith in the NPP as it promises to consolidate policies and programs it has commenced for the benefit of the country.

He noted that the government’s resolve to pay teacher trainee allowances as well as nursing trainee allowances despite the cancellation by the previous NDC government showed that the NPP was committed to the welfare of the people.

Dr Bawumia said the implementation of the free SHS Education policy since 2017 has ensured that 5.7 million Ghanaian children get access to pursue secondary school education at no costs.

“I am determined to roll out policies that would drastically reduce the burden on us as a people and make life bearable for all of us. This would mean to do away with things that make light bills soar as well as work to reduce cost of doing business in the country and for me that would be what i would pursue when i become President in 2025”, the NPP flag-bearer stressed.

Initiatives:

Dr Bawumia promised to give chiefs and queen mothers living wage allowances.

This, he noted would enable traditional authorities to be in a good position to take proper care of themselves and subjects since many depended on them for their livelihoods

The NPP flag-bearer also disclosed plans to fly Christian leaders who have the desire to visit Jerusalem just as Muslims enjoy currently under the Hajj arrangement.

To the youth, Dr Bawumia promised to create spaces for them to learn digital skills so they can be able to work remotely and get money to support themselves and their families.

Presentation:

As a sign of her commitment to the digital transformation agenda of the NPP flag-bearer, Madam Patricia Appiagyei presented 40 laptop computers to students at Kumasi High School.

She also donated 50 laptops to students from the Presbyterian Senior High School.

Speaking at the Rally, Mama Pat asked residents of Asokwa to come out on December 7 and vote massively for Dr Mahamodu Bawumia.

She noted that with the various programs and projects started by the Nana Akufo-Addo government, continuation of same can only be assured by Dr Bawumia who shares same values and mindset.

Flag-bearer:

Dr Bawumia tasked Asokwa residents to ensure they endorse him as well as Mama Pat so that together they could protect the free SHS and preserve all the social interventions they’ve embarked on since 2017.

“I am committed to creating a society where each of us would have space to work and earn a decent wage so that together we would have a prosperous future”, Dr Bawumia assured.
