Education Minister, Thousands of Free SHS Beneficiaries March in Support of NPP Ahead of 2024 Polls
Thousands of beneficiaries of the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy have embarked on a walk in support of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) ahead of the 2024 polls.
The walk, held in the Bosomtwe Constituency, brought together beneficiaries and their parents, as well as some stalwarts of the NPP, including the Education Minister, Dr. Osei Yaw Adutwum, and some regional executives of the party.
Addressing the beneficiaries, Deputy Coordinator for the Free SHS policy, Nana Afra Sika Mensah, emphasized that the Free SHS remains one of the most important policies in Ghana, benefiting almost every household in the country.
She called on voters to protect the program by voting for the NPP and urged Ghanaians to retain the party, stating that only Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia is capable of improving the policy.
Education Minister Dr. Osei Yaw Adutwum also addressed the gathering, highlighting the NPP’s significant investments in Ghana’s education system.
He emphasized that the NPP remains the only party trustworthy enough to lead Ghana and appealed to the public to vote massively for Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia.
The Free SHS policy, launched by President Nana Akufo-Addo in 2017, has been a flagship program of the NPP, aiming to make secondary high school free for students in Ghana.
