Re- collation and re-declaration of some disputed parliamentary results: Frimpong-Manso Institute calls for peace and national unity

Rev. Prof. Paul Frimpong-Manso, President of Frimpong-Manso Institute (FMI)
The Frimpong-Manso Institute (FMI) has issued a passionate appeal to major actors in Ghana’s governance process, including Parliament, the judiciary, and other relevant institutions, to be supremely measured and sensitive in their comments and conduct.
This call comes amidst rising tensions over the recollation of disputed parliamentary results in some constituencies.
According to the institute, the country’s businesses and overall economic conditions will be severely impacted without peace.
The Institute believes, Institutions like religious bodies, traditional authorities, civil society groups, academia, media, and business societies have a responsibility to ensure Ghana maintains its peaceful coexistence
In a Christmas message to Ghanaians, Rev. Prof. Paul Frimpong-Manso, President of FMI, urged the public to let the birth of Christ echo peace in the country.
He emphasized that Ghana’s democracy is still fragile and needs a solid foundation to thrive.
“Nothing, absolutely nothing, should be done to endanger the peace nor undermine the fundamental underpinnings of our democracy.”
The institute’s message is rooted in the biblical prophecy of the Messiah, who brings peace and governance to His people.
With the incoming Mahama administration needing peace to fulfill its campaign promises and tackle structural challenges, FMI’s call for peace is timely.
The institute’s president noted that all arms of government, including Parliament, Judiciary, and other relevant institutions, will be rendered ineffective, dysfunctional, or even worthless without peace.
He, therefore, appealed to all institutions and Ghanaians to be measured and sensitive in their comments and conduct.
