Buying land in dry season risky; beware of flood-prone lands -Boakye Fapem warns developers
Mr. Emmanuel Boakye Fapem.
A word of caution has been sounded to developers by award-winning building contractor, Mr. Emmanuel Boakye Fapem.
He has advised them to exercise extreme caution when purchasing land for development purposes, particularly during the dry season.
Speaking on Kumasi-based OTEC 102.9 FM’s morning show, Nyansapo, on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, Mr. Fapem revealed that some unscrupulous individuals, including chiefs and landowners, take advantage of the dry season to sell waterlogged areas to unsuspecting buyers.
These areas, which appear dry during the dry season, can become flooded during the rainy season, posing significant risks to developers and property owners.
Mr. Fapem, who is also the CEO of Fapem Constructions, emphasized the importance of thorough research and due diligence before acquiring land for development.
He also urged his fellow contractors to prioritize quality work over profit, stressing the need for professionalism and integrity in the construction industry.
Mr. Fapem’s appearance on the show was part of the station’s celebration of his birthday, recognizing his contributions and expertise in the construction sector.
