Bompata PIWC Launches Ministry For Celebrities; Embarks On Float With Papa Kumasi and Others

The Bompata Assembly of the Pentecost International Worship Center (PIWC) on Sunday launched a new Ministry which is aimed at reaching out to persons involved in the media, music and creative arts industry with the Gospel.

Christened as the “Celebrities Ministry”, the Church of Pentecost World wide plans to use same to spread the Gospel of Christ Jesus to all manner of persons who play roles in the area of media, entertainment and the creative arts industry.

Speaking at the launch, Apostle Victor Akwasi Asamoah, Area Head of the Bompata Assembly of the Church Of Pentecost said the vision of the church from now to 2028 is to vigorously reach out to celebrities with the message of the Gospel.

“As part of our vision from now to 2028, the Church of Pentecost is setting up this special Celebrities Ministry to reach out to our brothers and sisters involved in music, stage craft, entertainment, conventional media and social media spaces with the message of the Gospel so that all of us can come to know the Lord Jesus before we leave this place called earth”, Apostle Asamoah stated.

Speaking to the media after participating in the launch at Bompata PIWC, Clement Sarfo who is known in the public as “Papa Kumasi” thanked the Church of Pentecost for thinking about the salvation of celebrities in Ghana and elsewhere.
“Just as everyone needs Christ, we celebrities also need him very much in our lives so that while playing our roles in the fields we operate we could also project the name of Christ Jesus to others who may not have accepted him into their lives”, Papa Kumasi stressed.
On their part, Charles Osei popularly known as “Shiifo” and Frank Sarfo also known as “Dwirikadwiri” commended the Church of Pentecost for their thoughtfulness.
They welcomed the idea and pledged their commitment to use the opportunity offered them as Ambassadors to reach their friends and family members and audience with the message of the cross of Christ.
Float:
Taking to the streets after the launch with a float amidst brass band music while holding placards telling people to accept Christ as their Lord and Saviour, the youth and adult members set out to sensitize the public about the new Celebrities Ministry.
Joined by the celebrities and musicians including Madam Augustina Addison and Madam Dorcas Appiah, the Church used the Aboabo post office street and headed towards the Asokore Mampong community.
Using the principal streets of Asokore Mampong, the members of the church used three hours to speak to people they met on the way and implored them to give their lives to Christ.
Dr Michael Owusu, Elder of PIWC and Lead Researcher at KNUST thanked the celebrities and the church members for participating in both the launch and the float and asked God’s blessings for all of them.
