Finance Minister swears in new Ghana Gold Board Members

The Minister for Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has sworn in the newly appointed members of the Governing Board of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), following consultations with the Council of State.

Speaking during the swearing in on Monday, May 19, Dr Forson urged the newly-constituted Board to work hard to support and sustain this trajectory.

“I urge the newly-constituted Board to work hard to support and sustain this trajectory,” he advised.

The appointments are part of efforts to strengthen the governance and operational effectiveness of the GoldBod, which oversees the regulation and promotion of gold-related activities in the country.

The newly appointed members include:

  • Kojo Fynn – Chairperson
  • Samuel Gyamfi – Chief Executive Officer of GoldBod
  • Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah – Minister for Lands and Natural Resources
  • Thomas Nyarko Ampem – Deputy Minister for Finance
  • Dr. Johnson Asiama – Representative of the Governor of the Bank of GhanaGhanaian food recipes
  • Marietta Agyeiwaa Brew – Legal practitioner and former Attorney General
  • Nana Ama Amissah III – Traditional leader and representative of women on the board

The board is expected to play a key role in enhancing transparency, accountability, and growth in the gold sector, with a focus on supporting both large- and small-scale mining operations.
