Bosomtwe: Mentally ill man butchers 55-Year- old man to death at Aputuogya

A horrific incident has occurred at Aputuogya in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region, where a 30-year-old man suspected to be mentally ill man has allegedly butchered a 55-year-old man to death.
The suspect, yet to be identified reportedly attacked the deceased with a machete without any provocation, leading to his death.
According to residents, the incident happened on Wednesday, June 25, 2025.
The suspect was arrested when he attempted to bury the deceased in a gutter after the incident.
Residents disclosed to OTEC News that the suspect has a history of mental problems and has been notoriously known for threatening to kill people in the area on a daily basis.
The police have apprehended the suspect and are assisting with investigations.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue pending autopsy.
