United States Congress Honours Dr Adutwum As Champion of Education

In a historic and inspiring moment, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, the Founder and Former Chief Executive Officer of New Designs Charter Schools, has been officially recognized by the United States Congress for his exceptional service in the area of Education.

Dr Adutwum, Ghana’s former Education Minister was also lauded for his transformational contributions to education in South Los Angeles where he once headed.

Presenting the certificate of honour to the former but famous Ghanaian Minister, US Congresswoman, Sydney Kamlager-Dove commended Dr. Adutwum’s for his unwavering commitment to empowering underserved communities through high-quality education.

The honour on the highly intelligent Bosomtwe MP was conferred during the 2025 graduation ceremony of New Designs Charter School at the Los Angeles Trade-Technical College auditorium.

A proud son of Ghana, current Member of Parliament  For Bosomtwe and former Minister for Education, Dr. Adutwum is one of the few Black immigrants to have established a successful charter school network in the United States.
