Kokofu paramount chief praises Breast Care International’s humanitarian Work

The Paramount Chief of Kokofu Traditional Council, Okogyeasuo Barima Ofe Kwasi II, has paid a glowing tribute to the President and Founder of Breast Care International, Dr. Beatrice Wiafe Addai, for her dedication to helping humanity.

The chief showered his praises on their humanitarian work with Direct Relief’s donations, recounting the many years the health facilities in his jurisdiction have been receiving essential and life-saving drugs.
Chief’s appreciation
The chief made these remarks when he received the CEO of Direct Relief, USA, Amy Weaver, and her entourage at the palace at Kokofu in the Bekwai municipality in the Ashanti region on Saturday, July 26, 2025.
Okogyeasuo Barima Ofe Kwasi II warmly welcomed them and showed his profound appreciation for Direct Relief’s continuous donation of life-saving drugs to the Kokofu Government Hospital through Breast Care International.
Call to continue good works
The chief urged Dr. Beatrice Wiafe Addai to continue her good works in educating people about breast cancer, a disease that is killing women in Ghana.
In response, Dr. Wiafe Addai thanked the chief for appreciating her work and called for support.
Outreach programs
On Sunday, the BCI team, accompanied by an official from Direct Relief, embarked on outreach programs at the Church of Pentecost at Kumawu-Bodomase and Boanim Health Center at Boanim in the Ashanti region.
The programs included breast cancer education and free screening for breast cancer, hypertension, and diabetes.
Direct Relief CEO’s visit
Amy Weaver, the CEO of Direct Relief, is in Ghana for her first international official engagement since assuming office in May 2025.
Her visit to BCI in Ghana was based on the exceptional work being done by Dr. Mrs. Beatrice Wiafe Addai and her team’s inspiring commitment to improving healthcare delivery globally.
