Krofrom market traders laud President Mahama’s visit to the market

Market women in Krofrom have declared their readiness to rally behind President John Dramani Mahama for another term in office if he fulfills his promise to complete the long-abandoned Krofrom market project.
Their pledge follows a recent visit by the President to the site, where he assured the traders of his commitment to reviving and completing the over decade-old project.
President John Dramani Mahama has assured residents of Kumasi that the long-abandoned Krofrom Market project will be completed and fully operational by the end of 2026.
The market, which was initiated in 2007, has remained uncompleted for over a decade, turning into a hideout for criminals and reptiles, much to the frustration of traders and residents.
As part of his Thank-You Tour of the Ashanti Region on Wednesday, July 16, President Mahama inspected the project site and pledged that all necessary steps would be taken to ensure its completion and activation.
He reiterated the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government’s commitment to revamping market infrastructure across the country as a priority.
Soeaking to OTEC NEWS reporter Bismark Appiah Kubi Papilo, the women, visibly excited by the visit, said they are overwhelmed by the president’s show of concern and are confident he will deliver.
According to some of them, Mahama’s visit to the market alone boosts their confidence, adding that the former president Akufo-Addo never stepped his foot at the market throughout his eight years in office
The traders’ infurtherance expressed the struggles they go through at the market due to its poor state.
