Our focus should be to repair relationships with market women, others – Asabeee tells NPP.

Hon Stephen Asamoah Boateng, Aspiring National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP)
Aspiring National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hon Stephen Asamoah Boateng has asked party members particularly national, regional, constituency as well as polling station executives to rather than anything concentrate efforts in reaching out to grassroot supporters and sympathisers to appease them over the party’s electoral defeat.

Speaking to some media outfits in Kumasi on Thursday, Hon Boateng said having suffered such a humiliating defeat at the 2024 polls it was important that the party and its members reached out to traders, artisans and business people as well as the public to offer apology to them.
He noted that the NPP naturally gets its strength and power from these identifiable groups of people and therefore the need to meet and appease them with sincere apologies.
“Our people at the Bantama Market, Kejetia, Adum, Sofoline and in fact all over Ashanti have been the ones who have been showing support to be successful in elections and so rather than any other thing we must go to them and show genuine remorse for the things we did wrong and seek forgiveness for same”, Hon Boateng stated.
Proposed Amendments:
Speaking about Saturday’s delegates conference in Accra, the former Information Minister said about 59 categorised amendments would be sought after.
These amendments that is being sought, he noted, have been the outcome of proposals sent by party faithful across the country after the fact finding activity by the Mike Ocquaye Committee which was tasked to unravel issues that may have led to the defeat of the NPP in the December 7, 2024 polls.
Asabeee, as the former Minister is known by party faithful advised the rank and file of the party to agree to every forward -looking amendments including the mass expansion in all polling stations across the country when it is presented before them.
“I urge that all delegates attending Saturday’s conference agree to a mass expansion of the party’s base and set a timeline to in two years allow for each member to vote in all internal elections including making allowance for all past polling executives to vote and be part of all decision making processes of our party”, Hon Asabeee posited.
