A/R: Two confirmed dead,13 critically injured in fatal accident on Kwanfifi-Betinko highway
13 people sustained injuries, following a head-on collision between one sprinter bus at Kwanfifi in the atwima Mponua District.
The critically injured victims have been transferred to the Frimpong Boateng clinic receiving immediate medical treatment
The incidents occurred around 7:30pm. on Friday, August 15, 2025, on the Kwafifi-Betinko road, a suburb in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region
According to eyewitness Isaac kyei Manu, he expanded that they heard a loud crash and rush to the scene, where they found one sprinter bus with registration number As-630-20 and timber car truck with no license plate severely damaged in middle of the road.
According to reports gathered by OTEC News, the defective Timber truck was parked on the side of the road when the sprinter driver, who is said to have dozed off, collided with it.
Due to the severity of the crash, two died on the spot, leaving thirteen passengers aboard the sprinter bus with several injuries
According to him, he suspects one of the drivers may have dozed off while driving, resulting in the tragic collision
