Abuakwa DKC residents up in arms over rampant accidents in death trap bridge

A recent incident involving a taxi cab that fell into the ditch, injuring four people, has brought the issue to a boiling point.

According to the residents, the ditch was created by an abandoned road project that began developing the pothole seven months ago when the contractor abandoned the project.

Since then, the ditch has grown in size, causing accidents and disrupting economic activities in the area.

Speaking to OTEC News Reporter Kwame Agyenim Boateng, on Tuesday, the residents expressed their frustration and anger over the situation.

They believe that accidents on the road could be easily averted if the Municipal Assembly took action to address the issue.

The Chairman of the DKC Drivers Association Mr Philip Ansere revealed that they have met with the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Wisdom Boamah, to discuss the problem, but nothing has been done about it.

He noted that economic activities in the area come to a grinding halt whenever there is heavy rainfall due to the ditch, which prevents drivers and commuters from using the road.

The drivers have once again called on the MCE to address the problem as a matter of urgency.

They are demanding that the Municipal Assembly takes immediate action to fix the road and prevent further accidents.

The residents are counting on the Assembly to take responsibility and provide a solution to this pressing issue.
