Amponsakrom Community Chip Compound crippled by lack of electricity

The Amponsakrom Chip compound in the Afigya Kwabre North district of the Ashanti region is facing a dire situation due to the lack of electricity in the community.

According to residents, the community has never been connected o the national grid making life unbearable for them particularly in the health sector

They noted the healthcare facility has been forced to rely on a generator to power its operations, but the cost of fuel has made it unsustainable.

Mr. Richard Amankwah, the nurse in charge, revealed that the community is suffering due to the irregular use of the generator, which is only used in emergency cases.
The situation is further compounded by the poor state of the facility, with bats having taken over parts of the compound, including the nurses’ quarters.

The community, with a population of over 500, is in dire need of support.
Mr. Amankwah has called on the government, through the Minister of Health, Kwabena Mintah Akando, to intervene and provide electricity and other necessary support to the facility.
The facility’s struggles to provide adequate healthcare services to the community are evident, and the residents are counting on the government’s support to improve their healthcare delivery.
